I am participating in a 3 day workshop on ICT integration in the classroom. This is the third day of intense work but also a great deal of excitement and enjoyment. I have learned a great deal about ways in which various technologies can be used to enhance both teaching and learning. It requires a considerable amount of planning to incorporate the ideas and techniques learned in teaching a lesson. However, there are a great deal of advantages if the process is done well. I intend to implement many of the suggestions made during the workshop. And I was also able to review some very important aspects of pedagogy with respect to constructivism and creating a child centered classroom environment.
It takes a lot of planning but as you said there are a lot of advantages. The students should be interested, they blog and facebook and text all of the time but get them to do their homework on paper is a problem. It is time we teachers move to where the students are hopefully now when we tell them to blog from home, then homework will not be a problem.
ReplyDeleteI agree totally. I think very often the resistance to change begins with us as teachers. The students are usually willing and rearing to go.
